Ruby (2014)
Ruby (2014)

I met Ruby for the first time on May 2nd at her foster home in Fargo. She was extremely shy and would only come to me if I had a treat. Most of the time she stayed very close to her foster Mom and would occasionally peak out at me from behind her legs. When I picked Ruby up on May 3rd and we began the long journey to her new home in Bismarck, she was quite uncertain about me and was restless in the car on the drive to her new home. I kept talking to her and assuring her things would be okay and she finally fell asleep on my lap. It took Ruby awhile to get acclimated to her new surroundings, and us. She was very scared and so we were careful not to startle her or make quick or sudden movements. Slowly Ruby began to get adjusted to her new life. I’m very fortunate because I get to bring Ruby with me to work every day. In the morning when I get ready to leave the house I say to her “c’mon Ruby, let’s go to work”. She runs down the stairway and waits by my car door so that I can put her in her kennel and head off! She has a nice little cozy bed in my office, along with her blankie and toy. She is sooo comfortable and loves to sleep away her day! After having been “dog-less” for almost 5 years now, we wanted to make sure we found the perfect fit. And that certainly has been the case with Ruby!! We feel blessed to have such a wonderful addition to our family! We are looking forward to many more years with our little “pumpkin”! Thank you to DITR for helping us find Ruby! Sincerely, Karla & Len
