Foster Feedback:

1/8/16

People:  Scout loves people. He loves to get pets from anyone that will pay attention to him.  At his prior home he did growl at a child that tried to hug him. I think he will do the best in a family with adults or older respectful youth.

Animals:    Scout is friendly with other dogs but does not really know how to play with the dogs in the house. He tries to hide when our dog tries to play. Scout pretty much ignores the cat, he will just sniff. Scout did bark at our dog when our dog was picking on our cat.

Training:   Scout is house trained, no accidents in the house since we’ve had him.  He loves his chew toys and will growl if anyone tries to take them away. We started working on the command to release when he has a toy or something he is not supposed to have. He knows sit and stay well. I had him in a sit stay when someone came to our door and he stayed until I released him. He will also sit and wait when we tell him to wait before eating. He is very treat oriented.

Kenneling:   Scout does well in his kennel. But he won’t go into his kennel without getting a treat to go. Once he is in the kennel he does very little barking. He does sleep in his kennel right next to our dogs kennel so he does have company and I think that helps.

Traveling:  He travels well in the car. We went on a short trip around town and he slept in his seat most of the time. He does have his own seat belt.

He likes to sleep on the couch when we are sitting on the couch but he doesn’t snuggle too close yet. He likes to be petted and scratched but if you try to hug him he will struggle to get away. He likes to explore and is usually walking around the house or yard with his nose to the ground.

Scout has only been in our home for a couple days but he has been the sweetest little boy.
