Foster Home Feedback:

10/31/14

Kate is having less and less “accidents” in the house. She really loves to chew rawhides and tennis balls. We’re working with her on the jumping up and nipping at hands or legs while people are walking around the house. She just wants to play the entire time! I hope she can find an active family that will love her energy and spunk. She doesn’t like the vacuum cleaner and will hide under the bed, but comes out as soon as she hears it go back into the closet ;)  She’s a great eater, loves treats and never turns down a raw hide.

Short but sweet update on Kate. She can now go 8-10 hours overnight with no accidents! We are still working on her cueing us during the day when she needs to go out, but she's come so far! Kate also went to the dog park for the first time and did so well. She is learning to pick up on cues from other dogs and their play styles. All this from the scared puppy who spent almost the first year of her life in a basement. Kate is hoping to find her forever family soon and spend the rest of her days in their loving arms!

Kate is really doing wonderfully! The only thing we are still working on is sleeping through the night. She is still needing potty breaks roughly every 3-4 hours but she's only really been on a potty schedule for a very short time. We’ve started taking away her water after 7pm and that seems to be helping. Kate has a ton of puppy energy and would probably do best in an active family with older children since she still has the 'puppy nips'. She already knows how to sit and loves to for yummy treats! Kate also loves going on walks, and is good on leash. When the day is over and she’s tired, she loves to snuggle in close!

Kate came to rescue from a neglectful situation. She has spent her whole life in a basement with her litter mates (Sun and Sawyer, also available for adoption). She is a shy girl who is learning what the good life is all about. Kate is working on potty training and kennel training, but keep in mind she has only been out of that basement for a week. While good with her litter mates, she is still shy/scared around other dogs. Kate needs someone with a little patience to help build her confidence and spoil her for the rest of her days!
