We have had Hershel for a month and he is the absolute sweetest boy!  He has a lot of life experience... Hershel is nearly 13 years old and was rescued from a hoarder/breeding operation.  When he first got to our house he was very timid and shy, and is still pretty shy when meeting new people or encountering new situations.  However he has never been anything but a polite little gentleman no matter what.  He has started to snuggle up to us a lot more when we are home in the evenings relaxing, and he follows us around now too!  We love to watch him in our yard as well... despite his age, he LOVES to explore and sprint and play in the grass.  He is well behaved with other dogs and would more than likely be fine with cats as well.  Everyone who meets him loves him!  Hershel has no teeth, so we've been feeding him a mixture of hard kibbles mixed in with wet food and a good amount of water.  He isn't fully house trained, but we have really had no issues; he wears a belly band and sits around most of the time!  He always does his business when we put him out.  We are looking for a patient and loving home for Hershel to retire in.  He has been through a lot and deserves it!
