Foster Home Feedback:

12/26/14

Hi friends! My name is Harper and I'm here to tell you a little about myself! First things first, I love to play! Playing with other dogs is one of my most favorite things to do. My foster mom brings me to this place called South Bark and some times I spend all day playing! Other times she brings me to this park just for dogs and I get to run around outside with new friends. I haven't met a dog that I don't like as long as they want to play with me :) I'm ok with kitties, but I try to play with them too, so I should only go to a home with kitties that are ok with that! I'm also very good with the kiddos, but I tend to bump over the very small ones.

Strangers still scare me but my foster mom is helping me learn that people aren't all bad! Lots of new people I meet bring me treats! We are still working on this by going to new places and meeting new people friends. I hope my forever family will continue to help me with this! So if you're reading this, and you like what you hear, you should probably bring me home with you! I'd like to find my forever family soon! In the mean time, I'll keep hanging out with my foster family and learning new things! :)

Harper is a black pitbull mix which is pretty much two strikes in shelters and rescues. But she has so much love to give!! She is such an energetic, smart girl! In two weeks, she has learned sit, shake (with both paws), stay, down, and we are now working on leave it. She is eager to please and loves treats! Harper does need to wear off some physical energy before she can devote time to learning. She is a dog that needs a daily walk, or time to run in an open area. Once she is tired, she LOVES to cuddle! She has had no potty accidents since her spay and her hormones have leveled out. She is still doing fantastic in her kennel as well! We are hoping someone looks past the stigma of a black dog, and opens their home and heart to a wonderful dog!

Harper has only been here a day but she's settling in already. She has made friends with both my dogs (Great Dane and Chihuahua) but hasn't met my cats yet. She listens very well! Harper came from an unknown past but it appears she may have been abused by a male. She is not aggressive but definitely more timid around them, and fast movements startle her. We are hoping to teach her that people are safe, but for now we would recommend older, considerate kids who can give her space while she adjusts to her new freedom :) Harper is a GEM in her kennel! She keeps it clean and is quiet. She adores attention, and like a typical pitbull, loves to be touching you. We will update more as we get to know her, but she is already wiggling her way into our hearts!
